GCISD Election Early Voting Ends Today – Vote Becky St John. I wanted to encourage you all to vote in the GCISD Trustee election going on right now, turnout in Grapevine is at a record pace for this type of race. Becky St John is the only candidate in this race that has the knowledge, experience and work ethic to fight alongside me next session – to help keep more of your tax dollars in GCISD and to help lower your taxes. Her opponent hasn’t even attended one full board meeting. In the real world, you don’t get the job just for showing up, and you definitely don’t get the job if you NEVER show up. Vote Becky St John.

— State Rep. Giovanni Capriglione

Response from Becky: Thank you to State Rep. Giovanni Capriglione for this shout-out! As many of you know, Gio always has an open door for trustees as well our parents and students–who all went to the PTA Rally Day, and watched as Gio listened to our students voice their concerns? Who all helped put on the PTA Legislative Forum, where Gio was more than willing to attend and answer question after question? I couldn’t agree more–being a trustee is not only about showing up (and you HAVE to SHOW UP), it’s about putting in the hard work, too.

Please vote for Becky St. John. Thank you.”

— Former Grapevine Police Chief Eddie Salame

Response from Becky: Thank you to former Grapevine Police Chief Eddie Salame for this endorsement! I have known Chief Salame and his family for years, both as public safety colleagues when I was a park ranger and as friends and neighbors. Chief Salame was instrumental in the creation of the Community Outreach Center which has provided vital services to our GCISD students and residents, and he leaves a legacy of cooperation between GCISD and local entities that is critical to keeping our students and campuses safe. I appreciate his support for my election! Election Day is Saturday June 16, 7am-7pm.

Election, Note from Becky

There’s going to be a Runoff Election — and I need your help!

I’ve never been a politician but unfortunately our kids’ education has been turned into a political football. My opponents are spending tens of thousands of dollars to convince our friends and neighbors that we somehow have terrible problems with our GCISD schools, that the school district is failing, and that preparing our kids for a complex and demanding future is somehow insulting to the past.

You and I know it’s not true. Our kids, our parents, our teachers, and our schools are amazing!

We have programs for future farmers and nurses, for engineers and floral designers and everything in between. Building on the best curriculum in the State, we’ve added specialized programs like STEM, Collegiate Academy, iUniversity Prep, GT, ASPIRE, and Dual Language programs. Students are thriving in athletics and the arts. We are sending more kids to college and developing opportunities for those who choose another path.

After trying to buy the general election, they are now trying to buy the runoff election too … We expect them to spend at least *another* $20,000!

I am doing my best to fight off this outside attack but I need your help!

Please VOTE!

Election Day is June 16 (early voting June 4-12). Click for voting details.

Please DONATE.

I am up against a Goliath political machine. They are outspending me at least by 10x. If everyone gave just $25, or $50, or a little more … We can win this! Click here to donate.

Thank you!
