National & International

GCISD announces record number of AP Scholars.

Cannon Elementary: A GCISD STEM School has been named a 2020-2021 ITEEA STEM School of Excellence. Cannon is one of just 10 schools in the nation to earn the distinction, and the only in Texas.

GCISD has again been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation.

The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) awarded 1 of only 6 national awards to a Colleyville Middle student; seven other GCISD students were a finalist or honorable mention for the award.

GCISD Announces National Merit Commended Students and 15 National Merit Semifinalists.

14 members of the Class of 2021 have been identified as College Board National Recognition Program Scholars.

Grapevine High School has earned the College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award.

Cheer Teams Excel at the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) High School Nationals at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

GHS counseling earns top national honor from the American School Counselor Association. Colleyville Heritage High School has earned the prestigious Lone Star State School Counselor Association Silver Award. 

A Cannon Elementary student has been nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize, commonly referred to as the junior version of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has won a 2021 ClassLink Award of Excellence for Outstanding Daily Engagement.

The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Financial Services department has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials International — for the 30th time.

State

GCISD’s High Schools are ranked #2 and #7 (as of 3/18/21)in the 5A Lone Star Cup of the Texas University Interscholastic League, which honors the best overall athletic and academic programs in Texas.

GCISD runners had an incredible showing across the board at the UIL State Cross Country Championships; GHS boys won the Class 5A state title for the first time in program history.

Our Colleyville Heritage High School senior capped off an undefeated season by winning the UIL 5A 152-pound Texas State Championship in Wrestling.

CHHS Diver is Back-to-Back State Champ.

A total of 39 GCISD students were honored at the conference as either State Champions or State Finalists at the virtual conference for Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA).

GCISD Future Farmers of America (FFA) students recently enjoyed success at the Tarrant County Junior Livestock Show in Fort Worth.

Ten GCISD students have been named Texas All-State musicians by the Texas Music Educators Association. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive.

GCISD’s Executive Director of Human Resources has been named the “Personnel Administrator of the Year” by the Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators.

GCISD Earns Third Straight Top 100 Workplace Award from The Dallas Morning News.
